Care Providers Network hosted their first breakfast networking event on Thursday 19th April at Colchester United F.C.
We were delighted to invite over 50 local Independent Care Home Owners and Managers to our launch event with guest speaker Cynthia Bower, CEO of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Cynthia ou
tlined the CQC developments to date and set out the regulatory strategy for future inspections. A livley and informative question time followed. An emerging theme was how to publicise the fantastic care that is present in so many of our homes across Essex and Suffolk. The public’s perception of the sector has been damaged, and Cynthia set Care Providers Network the task of readdressing the balance.
Together with keeping care home professionals abreast of current issues, creating an opportunity to network was a major part of the event. Care Providers Network was formed to bring care professionals together to share best practice and support each other. Delegates made the most of their time, whilst enjoying a hot breakfast, to do just this. It was great to see delegates taking an active role in discussions, sharing ideas, concerns and common issues. 93% of those attending thought there was sufficient opportunity to network, whilst 98% said they would attend another similar event.
Thank you to all who attended. We will be sending out details of our next event shortly.
